I have been a practicing therapist for 20 years and have the experience you can trust. I have worked with couples, individuals, groups, and families across many different issues and found success in each of those areas. I especially love working with couples and challenging emotional cases. My broad understanding of mental health will help you no matter the challenge you are facing.

My specific experiences over the years.

Alliance Clinical Services: I worked at Alliance Clinical Services in American Fork, Utah for almost 13 years. Our clients were court mandated, focusing on drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. These experiences helped me to understand the extremes of human behavior and a wide variety of mental health issues. I also worked in a group home with youth for a year.

Highland Springs Specialty Clinic: I worked at Highland Springs Specialty Clinic for five years. We worked with clients that had common mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and marital issues as well as more challenging cases like clients with suicidal ideation, bipolar, and schizophrenia.

Thompson Therapy: I have worked in private practice for eight years and am currently working full time at my private practice. I have continued working with many of the same issues I worked with at Highland Springs and have continued to focus highly on couples therapy and difficult emotional issues.

My approach is both insight-oriented and emotionally focused, based on evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). We will together find the methods that help you to reach your goals.
